Blazers come from behind to win first football game in school history.

For the first time all season the Blazers did not score on the opening drive and found themselves in an early hole down 12-0 to the Coyotes. The momentum would shift quickly in the second quarter when Ben Milliken found Colton Loftus for a 64 yard TD on a 4th and 20 play. This put the Blazer up to stay but the game remained close for most of the night.

Coming out of half time the Blazers got a stop on defense and then Austin Kerle went 48 yards to put the Blazer up 21-12. Austin would rush for 149 yards on the night, making him the first 100 yard rusher in program history. The Coyotes continued to grind it out on the ground with another score that cut the lead to 21-18. However, the fourth quarter was all Blazers as Milliken found Travis Miller for a 47 yard TD catch and Kerle capped the night off with another 40 yard TD run.

The defense came up big when they where needed most as Noah Luna made a touchdown saving tackle in the open field which was followed two plays later by a forced fumble by Colton Loftus that was recovered by Austin Kerle to go along with his 8 tackles. Daniel Jacinto lead the defense in tackles with 15 as he was all over the field. Carson Spenn had 2 tackles for loss and shared a sack with Jacinto. Randall Collins and Travis Miller each had 7 tackles on the night.

The Blazers continue to improve in the trenches with Triston Loftus leading an offensive line that is getting better and better at protecting the QB. Ethan Jackson made an impact up front as the defense needed a five man front to stop the rushing attack of the Coyotes. "I love how new players keep stepping up and making plays. You can see by our physicality in the game that we are getting more comfortable. Guys are starting to fly around and make plays and it is exciting to see," said Coach Spenn after the game.

Next week the Blazers will travel to St. Pete to take on the Shorecrest Charges on Friday night at 7pm. The Chargers are 1-1 on the season after a weather shortened game last week. They have a senior heavy team that is coming off a 10-1 season where they won the SSAC 8-Man State Championship. This will be a tough test for the young Blazer but they are continuing to improve with every day.
