Sarasota Christian School

Sarasota Christian hosts an annual Athletic Award Nights. Varsity and Sub-Varsity athletes are recognized for their team and individual achievements. 

Teams Awards:

• Most Valuable Player - Based on statistical and athletic performance, reflecting the student athlete's positive traits such as hard work, leadership and commitment to the team.
• Blazer Award - Recognizing the student athlete who rises above circumstances, remains positive and encourages team success above self.
• Most Improved Player - Celebrating the athlete whose performance and knowledge of the game most improved.

School Wide Awards:

• Male and Female Scholar Athlete Torch Award - Awarded to a Junior or Senior who has shown excellence in both the classroom and in athletic competition.
• Male and Female Athlete of the Year - Awarded to a high school student that displays dominance in their sport and often in multiple sports.
• Male and Female Blazer of the Year - Awarded to a Sophomore, Junior or Senior, that is committed to building great teams. 
• Blazer Volunteer Awards - Awarded to members of the Blazer Nation that the Athletic Department feel have made a great impact inside of our community.
• Assistant Coach of the Year - Awarded to a member of the Blazer's coaching staff that has stood out for their amazing ability to lead, while not being a varsity head coach.
• Coach of the Year - Awarded to the Blazer coach that has positively impacted the lives of the student-athletes he/she comes in contact with, while also having a successful season by Blazer standards.
• Three-Sport Athletes - Celebrating student-athletes who commit to playing three sports in a year.
• Scholar Athlete Team - Awarded to any athlete that plays a high school sport and maintains a 3.7 or above GPA.
• Blazer Towel - This award recognizes an individual for their service to the Athletic Department in line with the charge in Matthew 20:28 - That the Son of Man did not come to serve but to serve others.
