On January 10,the girls took on the Gulf Coast Heat during Blue and Gold Night. While in front of a huge crowd, the Lady Blazers played possibly their best quarter of the year as they outscored the Heat 15-0 in the quarter. The Heat would close to within 12 during a back and forth second quarter as the teams headed into halftime with a score of 20-8 in favor of the Lady Blazers. Both teams played well during the third quarter as the Blazers narrowly outscored the Heat 7-6 to take a 13 point lead into the fourth and final quarter. The Heat weren't finished yet though as they began the fourth quarter on an 8-0 run to cut the lead to 5 with five and a half minutes to play. From that point though, it was all Lady Blazers as they finished out the fourth quarter on a 14-1 run to push the lead out to 18 points at 41-23. Brenda Bresciani led the Blazers with a double-double, 13 points and 15 rebounds, to go with 5 blocks on the defensive end. Octavia Stoller and Caitlin Webb each had 8 points. With this win, they snapped a two game losing streak and are now 5-7 on the season and look to make strides as they will go on the road to take on the FISH Hawks on Friday January 13, at 5:30pm.
