The Blazers entered the SSAA playoffs in the top bracket but with a tough road opponent in Master Academy. The Blazers got off to a slow start and never really found their groove. A stop on the first defensive drive and a promising offensive drive fizzled out. Turnovers and injuries hurt the Blazers as the Patriots put up some big numbers in the first half. The Blazers found the endzone but could never make up the difference as they fell 54-20.
Colton Loftus had a season high 8 catches including a touchdown pass from
Ben Milliken. Milliken would also connect with
Judah Avery and
Noah Spenn on the night. Master's Academy would go on to lose a tight game to Shorecrest in the state championship game. The Blazers finished the season with just 3 losses to arguably the three best teams in the state. You could make a strong argument for the Balzers finishing 4th in the state in just their second and last season of 8-man football. The Blazers will make the jump to 11-man football next fall as the program continues to grow.Â
