The Blazers tennis team began their season in the right way, taking down the Seffner Christian Crusaders 6-1. The Blazers were firing on all cylinders, winning all five singles matches, as well as splitting the two doubles matches. The match began with
Isaiah Ledford and
Donovan Beita dropping their doubles match 5-8.
Ira Jackson and
Trenton Byers took a close match 9-7 to tie it up at 1. These doubles matches were followed by 3 seed
Alex Negron taking down his opponent 8-5, giving the Blazers a 2-1 lead. 5 seed
Ira Jackson took down his opponent, Manny Winn, 8-3. 1st seed
Isaiah Ledford got his redemption against Grayson McDonald 8-3, clinching the match for the Blazers, with a 4-1 lead.
Trenton Byers and
Donovan Beita also took care of business, winning 9-7 and 8-6, finishing the match with the Blazers winning 6-1. The Blazers look to continue the momentum gained from this first win at the North Port Bobcats, who defeated the Blazers twice last season.
