In a tough match against the Seffner Christian Crusaders the Lady Blazers lost 5-20. The Lady Blazers started off with a solid first inning of hitting as they scored two runs to give them a first inning lead. The Crusaders would bounce back with five runs of their own in the first and added another eight in the second to lead 13-2 as they held the Lady Blazers silent in their second at bat. The Lady Blazers strung together another three runs in the top of the third, but continued to have a rough time on the mound as the Crusaders would score seven runs in the bottom of the inning to end the game by mercy rule at 20-5. Sam Mitchell went 2-2 with a triple, three RBI's and scored the other two runs herself.
Ashton Klinger also scored two runs, going 1-1 at the plate and drawing a walk.
Audrey Jackson went 1-2 with 2 RBI's. Klinger started on the mound and had trouble from the start, giving up 10 runs on 6 hits, with 8 walks, in one and a third innings.
Selah Spenn came into the game in relief and had trouble getting her footing as she too gave up 10 runs on 3 hits, with 9 walks, in one and two thirds innings.
The Lady Blazers head into spring break with a 1-2 record and will look to bounce back against Gateway Charter (2-2) after the break on Tuesday, March 21st at 4pm.
