The Blazers hosted the 5-1 Crusaders from Keswick Christian for a rare Tuesday night game that resulted from the Hurricane. It was an explosive first half of offenses with the Blazers getting on the board with a 26 yard TD run by Elijiah George. This was set up by a 64 yard kickoff return by
Justin Brock. After a Crusader score,
Ben Milliken found
Randall Collins from 50 yards out to put the Blazers up 14-7. The 2nd quarter started with two Keswick TDs before Milliken found
Colton Loftus for another 50 yard touchdown pass. However, Keswick was able to get a late score to go up 28-21 at half.
The Blazers have a lot let 2-way players and as a result the second half took on a different feel. The defense got going and despite a good first drive for Keswick the Blazers pitched a shutout in the second half. Milliken put together another long drive that came down to a 4th down play where he connected with Brock for a 16 yard score and then
Travis Miller for the 2-point conversion to put the Blazers up 1. It would turn out to be all they need but Blazers would add one more on
Justin Brock rushing TD.
The defense came up with three turnovers on the night as
Travis Miller and
Alex Dominguez forced fumbles and special teams came up with another. Special Teams gave the Blazers great field position as
Justin Brock averaged 30 yards per return.
Randal Collins and
Travis Miller recorded sacks while
Carson Spenn and
Alex Dominguez where both in on 10 tackles.
Ira Jackson and
Collin Lawson each had 9. Milliken was 15 of 26 for 231 yards and 3 TDs as he completed passes to 5 different receivers.
The Blazers improved to 5-3 and will host St. Stephan's next.
