The Coach of the Year Award is awarded annually to one varsity head coach at Sarasota Christian School. This award recognizes the positive impact that a coach has on the lives of the student-athletes. We ask our coaches to do far more than teach a game, we ask them to be transformational in the lives of the athletes that they coach. This award honors the coach that continues to go above and beyond to build a great team that performs at a high level in the field of competition while building godly men and women for life.
When you see the culture of a team change in just one season it is clear that something special is happening. When you hear about the team from excited players, parents and even opposing schools you really start to take notice. Our coach of the year has produced a strong team that everyone loves being a part of. They have improved tremendously from last season to this season going from 8-12 to 14-7. Losses were against big public schools and came down to the final point. The team took home 3rd place in the SSAA State tournament and advanced in the FHSAA District tournament. More than all of this it was how Coach K built the team through a retreat, weekly lunches, ice baths and team bonding. She has truly been transformational. It is with great honor that I present this year's Coach of the Year award to Stephanie Knispel, Beach Volleyball.
