The Blazers improved to 3-2 and stayed unbeaten at home. Cambridge Christian had a good opening drive to take a 7-0 lead and the Blazers stalled out and punted. However, the defense got a stop and the Blazers got rolling as
Ben Milliken completed TD passes to
Justin Brock,
Travis Miller and
Justin Brock again. The Lancers tacked on a field goal to end the half but Milliken completed 2 more TD passed to
Travis Miller in the 3
rd to push the lead to 35-10. Milliken would get one more to
Noah Spenn for 6 TD passes on the night.
Travis Miller finished the night with 8 catches for 192 yards and 3 TDs.
Ben Milliken was very efficient going 22 of 28 for 376 yards.
The defense forced three turnovers with
Noah Spenn and
Cale Zeltwanger each had interceptions and
Peyton Gray recovered a fumble.
Ira Jackson lead the team with 114 tackles and
Trey Featherston had 10 tackles.
Collin Lawson had 10 tackles. Randal Collins and
Carson Spenn pressured the QB all night long.
Blazer Head Coach
Jacob Spenn got his 100
th victory of his 15-year varsity head coaching career. This is Coach Spenn's 23rd year on the sidelines and he holds a career coaching record as a varsity head coach of 100-63. Blazer football has 18 of those victories.
The Blazers will travel to ODA next Friday night at 7pm. The Thunder are 4-0 and ranked in the top 5 in the SSAA in some polls. The Blazers are 3-2 on the year. Both teams previously meet for the spring game at the end of last school year.
