Sarasota Christian School's Golf Program Makes a Comeback with New Coach
Sarasota, FL—Sarasota Christian School's golf program is making a grand return after an eight-year gap, and Coach
Jon Allen is leading the charge. Though new to the role, Allen is enthusiastic about his first season as the head golf coach.
Coach Allen has been playing golf for just over four years, and his appreciation for the sport has only grown. Before diving into golf, he has been an assistant coach for 3 years at SCS, for the varsity boys' basketball team, where he developed a strong foundation in coaching and team dynamics. His experience with basketball, combined with his passion for golf, makes him a great fit for this new role.
The revived golf program at Sarasota Christian School is more than just a chance for students to play a sport. It's also an opportunity for personal growth. Coach Allen is committed to helping his players develop their skills while also nurturing their character and faith. He sees golf as a way to teach valuable life lessons about perseverance, integrity, and teamwork.
As the season begins, Coach Allen is excited to create a supportive and engaging environment for his players. His goal is to make the golf experience enjoyable and rewarding, helping each student grow in their walk with Christ and in their skills as a golfer.
Coach Allen's team passage: 2 Corinthians 1:3-5 "Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort. 4) who comforts us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God. 5) For as the sufferings of Christ about in us, so our consolation also abounds through Christ."
