The Blazers football program ends the 2024 season with eleven athletes making the Honorable Mention list for the 2024 Herald Tribune's All-Area High School Football Offense & Defensive teams. Seniors:
Randall Collins (Offense & Defense) and
Isaiah Ledford, and Juniors:
Justin Brock,
Colton Loftus,
Travis Miller,
Ben Milliken,
Jack Ford, and
Alex Dominguez, and Sophomores:
Jacob Murray,
Carson Spenn, and
Noah Spenn, all made the Honorable Mention list this year.
Finishing 6-5 on the year, the Blazers had ups and downs this season. Beginning with a four hour bus ride to Jacksonville and ending with an earlier than expected exit in the SSAA State Tournament against Cambridge Christian, the Blazers scored a total of 315 points this season for an average of 28.6 points per game. Highs in points were 59 and 42. The Blazers had 2,909 yards gained on offense, an average of 264.4 ypg, with highs of 404, 375 and 348. The Blazers scored 42 offensive touchdowns during the 2024 season. On special teams, the Blazers hit 31 of 36 pat's and four of four field goals. The Blazer special teams also scored once on a kickoff return.
On defense, the Blazers finished with 69 tackles for loss, 15.5 sacks, and 128 yards lost. The Blazers recovered 9 fumbles and intercepted 4 opponents passes, while also blocking 4 punts. The Blazers defense scored one defensive touchdown on the season. The Blazers had one shutout on the 2024 season, while only surrendering 14 points in two other games.
