Kevin Bruinsma has been the head boys' basketball coach at Sarasota Christian School for six seasons, leading the team to a winning record every year. His consistent dedication and care for the players are evident in his approach to coaching. This year, Coach Bru was honored with the FACA 1A Head Boys Basketball Coach of the Year award for Region 16 for the second year in a row, recognizing his continued success.

"SCS is blessed to have Coach Bru. He cares deeply for his players while having a tremendous knowledge of the game and ability to teach it." Athletic director Jacob Spenn went on to say, "it is clear to me that we have excellent game plans and are often highly competitive with and even beating school that are much larger than us." Blazer basketball has advanced to the FHSAA regional the last two years as an at-large bid. They did that this year while overcoming a series of injuries that resulted in mulitple players missing time.
