2025 Male Blazer of the Year - Carson Spenn

The Blazer of the Year Award recognizes a male and female, sophomore or older, who is committed to building great teams. They are encouragers and competitors. These student-athletes do not follow the crowd, they are leaders. They have the conviction to stay focused and press on, when others would simply quit or take an easy way out. In short, they are great teammates that set a Christ-like example for all to follow. They live out our core values of and represent the qualities of a true Blazer athlete.

Carson Spenn is our Male Blazer of the Year. He has played a key role in three sports and was part of starting two of them at SCS. His coaches had the following to say about him.

From Coach Jordan, "He is one of those guys that will run through a wall for you. He has a tremendous work ethic and is comfortable being thrown into new things. He is someone who holds his teammates to a higher standard and at times, higher than they believe they are capable of. This unwavering belief in his teammates, his servant leadership, and his confidence in his faith and his team is why he is a guy coaches want. He simply makes teams better."

From Coach Bru, "He is the ultimate teammate. In the three sports he played, I don't think you could find one coach, or one player, that wouldn't want him on their team, or as their teammate again. As his basketball coach, one of the greatest compliments I can give a player is that they are playing the best basketball at the end of their careers. That is exactly what he did, as he played the best game of his life in our Regional Quarterfinal game. I will never forget his presence, his poise, and his commitment to his teammates. I am incredibly proud of him for what he accomplished during his time at Sarasota Christian and excited to follow him during his college years at Taylor."

From Coach Spenn, "It has been the greatest honor of my coaching career to be on the sideline with him. I tell all our players to be the kind of men that when you show up, people are glad you're there. He has done that for the football program. He has overcome more than many realize and through that will still have the opportunity to play at the next level at a place that I hold dear because of the impact it had on me. In my many years coaching Texas high school football I started a list of players that represented the kind of men and football players I hoped my young boys would become. That list contains many great men and I could not be more proud to add Carson to the list."
