The Sarasota Christian Women's Soccer Team had their senior night on January 21. It was a special night for many players, with the seniors saying good bye to their high school soccer careers. The team graduated three players. Emma Smith, a star defender, who battled through an offseason injury to return for part of the season, and shined. Bella DaSilva, another defender that helped tremendously in the effort to protect the goal, and was always a leader on the field. Finally, Ashley Ng, a utility player. Ashley had a particular talent for succeeding wherever she was put on the field, and brought an energy to the team that just made the team go. She was the team's glue. Despite a disappointing end to the season, a special moment did occur in the game. In her final game as a Blazer, Emma Smith score the lone goal for the Blazers. After she scored, the players on the team surrounded her, giving her a big group hug. The team really showed just how much they cared about the success of their teammates in that moment. A good season ended, and the offseason has begun.
