The Coach of the Year Award is given out annually to one varsity head coach at Sarasota Christian School. This award recognizes the positive impact a coach has on the lives of the student-athletes. SCS coaches do far more than teach a game, they are called to be transformational in the lives of the athletes that they coach. This award honors the coach that continues to go above and beyond to build a great team that performs at a high level in the field of competition while building godly men and women for life. The 2021-22 Coach of the Year is Josh Jordan.Â
Â
Josh Jordan led the Varsity Girls Volleyball team to back-to-back winning seasons. They recorded a school record in the number of wins, with 21 this year, and have become an established team in the area that is not afraid to play the big schools. The Blazers spent most of the season in the top 10 in the state and soundly defeated Sarasota High twice along with other big schools in the area. However, the intentionality of high standards, accountability and pointing the ladies towards Christ is also evident. The team culture has resulted in a lot of interest in the program as the numbers continue to grow. While they will graduate a lot of seniors. you can see the attitude in the returners that says we are a great team and will continue to be one. This type of culture takes great coaching to produce, and Coach Jordan has created that culture in his program.Â
