The Lady Blazers started off strong as
Octavia Stoller would take the opening tip-off from
Brenda Bresciani and drive straight to the hoop for two points. The Lady Blazers would then use their full court press to disrupt the ability of the Lancers to get the ball up the court and pushed the lead to 11-0 before pulling back into a half court press for the remainder of the game. The Lady Blazers had a strong first quarter with seventeen points, while giving up just one point to the Lancers.
Brenda Bresciani had a strong game defensively, giving the Lancer ball handlers all they could handle at the top of the press and the Lady Blazers used their speed to track down errant passes and turn them into points. The Lady Blazers would duplicate their first quarter efforts, this time scoring eighteen points and giving up just two. Two baskets into the second half,
Caressa Hulka scored to put the Lady Blazers up thirty-five points and force the running clock rule into affect. The Lady Blazers improved to 4-3 on the year with the 49-11 victory. Bresciani led the team with 19 points, 11 rebounds, and 9 steals, narrowly missing a triple-double for the second time this season. Stoller finished with 15 points and 8 rebounds.
Natalie Fullerton scored four points, while picking off 9 passes. And
Alivia Fullerton dropped in 7 points.
The Lady Blazers will be in action Thursday evening at Bradenton Christian against a strong 7-4 Panther team. The JV boys begin at 4pm, with the varsity girls playing afterwards around 5:30pm, and the evening finishing up with the varsity boys around 7pm.
