The Athlete of the Year Award is given annually to a male and female senior. These athletes display dominance in their sport and often in multiple sports. They set a high standard for commitment and work ethic. They are great competitors who are striving to get better and pushing their teammates to do the same. These seniors have demonstrated athletic excellence on the fields and courts of Sarasota Christian School.
      
Our female athlete of the year has been tenacious on the court. She plays with a passion that sets her apart. She does the little things that don't always show up in the stat sheet.

- From Coach Jordan, "Madi was an integral part of the Varsity Volleyball team's success this year. She was a dual threat on offense and defense, where she led the team in both hitting efficiency with a .212 hitting percentage and with 13 blocks. Beyond the game, Madi was one of the hardest workers in practice. Her tenacity and ability to give her all on every rep is why I believe Madi will continue to succeed in whatever she pursues in college."

- From Coach Allen, "As Madilyn's basketball coach this year, I had the opportunity to see this young woman placed in a unique position. As the lone senior, and only healthy returning starter from the previous year, Madilyn was working as a captain with essentially an entirely new squad. It often takes teams years to build camaraderie and trust, and yet, Madilyn worked to bring that same experience to a much younger, newer team. Oftentimes, Madilyn would come to practice after 1 or more workouts and still give of herself to the team, even when exhausted or even sick. Madilyn was a calming presence on the court and truly exhibited 1 Corinthians 15:58 "Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that in the Lord your labor is not in vain."

The 2022-23 Female Athlete of the Year Award goes to Madilyn Dreiling.
