The Lady Blazers traveled to Orlando for the SSAA 5A Championships and played two great soccer games. They came up short in both losing on Friday night 1-0 in a hard fought physical battle with Lake Mary Prep. On Saturday morning the Blazers would dominate the time of possession for regulation and overtime but could not score. After 100 minutes of scoreless soccer the game went to penalty kicks. Winthrop was able to convert two of their penalty kicks and take the victory. Lake Mary Prep went on to win the 5A Championship. The Lady Blazers are back in action on Tuesday, January 16 as they host Booker High School at 6 pm.
