Blazers Boys Soccer hosted the Panthers of Foundation Christian Academy in their home opener for the 2024-25 season on Tuesday evening. After giving up two goals in the first five minutes, the Blazers settled down and didn't allow another goal for the entire first half. With around 6 minutes to go in the first half, Junior Cristian Sadelson put a shot on goal that forced the goalie to punch it out. Freshman
Owen Donato was there ready and eager to put his first goal of his high school career into the back of the net. Donato's goal put the score at 1-2 in favor of Foundation, going into halftime. Coming out of the half, the Panthers scored another quick goal to push the lead back to 2 goals. The score would stay at 1-3 until midway through the second half. Cristian Sadelson possessed the ball inside the penalty area when he was tackled and was awarded with a penalty kick. Cristian put the ball into the back of the net for this first goal as a Blazer to draw the Blazers within one goal of the Panthers. Foundation would counter the goal with a fierce attack a minute later and once again the lead was at 2 goals. With around eight minutes to go, Donato would strike at the net a few times, just to get turned away from the Panther goalie. But Donato didn't give up and pushed a solid shot to the left side of the goal that was just outside the reach of the goalie, giving Owen his second high school goal and bringing the deficit to just 1 goal again. That's how the game would end as the Blazers weren't able to push another goal past the goalie.
