The Sarasota Christian Boys Soccer team played well on Thursday evening, but couldn't end up with the victory in a 1-1 tie against Lakewood Ranch Prep Academy.
Jack Ford would score the Blazers only goal with 4 minutes to go in the first half. The play began with a save from
Isaiah Ledford off of a free kick by the Eagles. Ledford then released the ball into the middle of the field with a 40 yard kick that found its way to
Adrian Sadelson. Ford would start his 60 yard sprint to the ball from the 35 yard line, five seconds before Sadelson launched the ball ahead. Ford beat the goalie to the ball and calmly pushed it into the back of the net for a Blazers 1-0 lead.
The Eagles would answer in the 15th minute of the second half on a ball that got past the defense and found its way to an Eagle attackers feet. Ledford got a piece of the ball on the shot, but it wasn't enough to drive the ball outside of the goal and he'd surrender his shutout to a 1-1 tie.
The Blazers played a well balanced game, with ten shots on the goal. Ledford made 6 saves in the game.
The Blazers are back in action next Friday evening for their last game before Christmas break against The Classical Academy of Sarasota at home. The game is set to be a good game as both games last year ended in ties, 2-2 and 1-1, in the rivalry match-up. The Blazers are 3-4-2 on the season, while the Patriots come into the game at 1-1, coming off a 4-1 win at Babcock Ranch High School.
