The girls varsity volleyball team finished up their 2025 year in the district championship against Keswick Christian. The match ended in a 3-0 loss for the Blazers, but it was a good battle during the first two sets that could have gone to either team.
The Blazers finish the season with a record of 11-14, after beginning the season 2-7 and finishing it on a 6-3 run in which the team played some of their best volleyball all season. The comeback began against Imagine School of North Port (3-0), The Classical Academy of Sarasota (3-1), and Canterbury of St Pete (3-0). Following that game up, the Blazers met a tough opponent in Geneva Classical Academy at the Sunshine State Athletic Associations State Championships, losing to them 3-2 before defeating Faith Christian 3-0 in the consolation bracket for the 2A tournament. The Blazers then traveled to Punta Gorda for a game against Babcock Ranch and came back from down 1-2 to win the match 3-2. A tough match-up ended in a loss against senior heavy Bell Creek Academy finished the regular season for the Blazers. The Blazers drew the third seed for the district tournament and traveled across town to face the Gulf Coast HEAT. The Blazers beat the HEAT 3-0 for a chance to battle it out with Keswick for the district championship, where they fell 3-0 to the Crusaders.
The Blazers were led during the season by
Finley Markley with 138 kills and
Ryan Donlin with 100 kills. Markley also fueled the Blazers from the service line with 49 aces and 154 points, while
Samantha Curtis added 30 aces and 83 points as well.
Hannah Bryan served 113 points. Senior
Haley Bolton led the team at the net defensively with 40 total blocks, while Donlin added 9 of her own.
Reagan Miller held the back line defensively with 267 digs, while Markley added 162. Setting up the hitters was
Hannah Bryan and
Ella Aylsworth with 259 and 160 assists respectively.
