The Blazers Girls Basketball program started off with a battle, but came out victorious to start the season with a 44-39 win over Southwest Florida Christian Academy. In a hard fought defensive battle, the Lady Blazers came out on top in a close victory. Both teams had long offensive runs. A back and forth contest saw many lead changes in the first half before the Blazers took control of the game late in the second quarter. Sarasota Christian was scrappy on the defensive end while they found their way offensively in their season opener. The Blazers were led offensively by
Brenda Bresciani's double-double with 16 points and 21 rebounds,
Octavia Stoller with 10 points,
Grace Gallo with 10 points including three 3-pointers, and
Nikki Olupitan's 6 points.
