It was a tough end of the week for the Blazers at they battled The Classical Academy of Sarasota on Thursday and Sarasota Military Academy on Friday. Both games were really tight games, with the Blazers missing multiple members to injury.
Against the Patriots, the Blazers would get things rolling in the tenth minute.
Noah Ovalle would get his second assist of the season as he intercepted a pass while on defense and launched it out and over the Patriot defense.
Jake Cross (1) earned his first varsity goal of the season as he won the race to the ball and punched it past the goalkeeper to push the Blazers into the lead 1-0. TCA would bounce back in the 26th minute to tie the game at 1-1 and that was how the first half would end. TCA would take the 2-1 lead twelve minutes into the second half on an amazing shot from 30 yards out that was just outside the reach of Blazer goalkeeper
Matthew Manyak and into the top left corner of the net. The Patriots would score the next two goals to make it 4-1 before the Blazers were able to strike their second and final time with five minutes left in the game.
Owen Donato would get the play started as he battled up front with the TCA defense for the ball. Donato would find Ovalle with a pass to the feet and Ovalle (2) would weave through the defense and push the ball past the goalkeeper and into the corner of the goal to come within 2 goals at 4-2.

In Friday's game against Sarasota Military Academy, the teams would play to a zero-zero tie through halftime and into the 43rd minute of the game before the Blazers earned a penalty kick after
Owen Donato was challenged inside the penalty box and had his feet knocked out from under him. With
Cristian Sadelson on the sidelines with an injury, Donato (5) would take the kick himself and add his fifth goal of the season as the Eagles goalkeeper would guess wrong on where Donato went with the ball and he blasted it into the goal to go up 1-0 in the game. The Eagles would strike for a goal of their own on a ball that was just out of the reach of
Matthew Manyak and dropped into the goal to tie the game at 1-1. That was how the game would end as neither team pushed another ball across the goal line in the last 30 minutes, so the teams would go to penalty kicks.
Jack Campbell would shoot first as the Blazers started off the kicks. The Eagles goalkeeper guessed wrong as Campbell pushed the ball past him and into the corner of the goal to lead 1-0. The Eagles would even up the score as Manyak guessed wrong on their first kick and the ball found the left corner of the net.
Owen Donato made it 2-1 after he found the corner as well with the Eagles goalkeeper being crossed up on the kick. Manyak took the goal once again and this time guessed correctly, but the ball squirted just past him to make it 2-2.
Robin Jasek took kick number 3 for the Blazers and blasted a shot to the right corner for an easy goal that the Eagles goalkeeper had no chance at, making it 3-2 Blazers. Kick number 3 for the Eagles was launched straight down the middle and made its way past Manyak as he dove to the right. At 3-3, the Blazers next kicker,
Noah Ovalle, would have his controlled shot blocked by the Eagles goalkeeper as SMA would gain the advantage for the first time during the kicks, putting pressure on Manyak to make a stop and even it out. Manyak was up for the challenge as he'd guess correctly and punch the ball out with both hands to keep the PK's tied at 3 all. That would bring up the 5th kickers for each team.
Nathan D'Alonzo would come up and place the ball just outside the reach of the Eagles goalkeeper and make it 4-3, making the Eagles 5th kick into a sudden death kick. The 5th Eagle kicker would be the only one of the ten to miss the goal as he'd go just above the upper goal post to give the Blazers the 1-1 (4-3 PK) win and third place in the WCAC Tournament.
