The Blazers Girls Basketball program played host to the Pirates from 5A Braden River HS last Friday evening in one of our toughest opponents of the year. The Blazers couldn't get things started offensively and fell behind quickly 16-5 going into the second quarter. The Blazers were able to increase their offensive production in the second quarter, but the Pirates continued to be on fire and pushed the lead to 15 at 30-15 before the half ended. The lead ended up being too much for the Blazers to overcome as they ultimately fell to the Pirates 56-25. Senior
Octavia Stoller led the way for the Blazers with 10 points and 6 rebounds, while
Nikki Olupitan also added 6 points and 6 rebounds. The Blazers fall to 4-2 on the year, while the Pirates continue their dominant start at 8-2.
The Blazers will hit the court next Friday night at 4pm, hosting Bishop McLaughlin (2-6), as they try to bounce back before going into Christmas break.
