Blazer Soccer Loses a Tough Game to Crusaders

Blazer Boys Soccer traveled to Keswick Christian on Friday evening for varsity soccer match-up with the Crusaders. Keswick would score first after a misplayed throw-in found Crusader feet in front of the goal and then the back of the net to make it 1-0 at the 18th minute. The Blazers would get on the board in the 23rd minute as they were attacking and a defender beat Cristian Sadelson to the ball, but instead of sending the ball out of the box, his kick rebounded back off of Sadelson and found its way over the goalkeeper and into the goal for Cristian's 7th goal of the season to tie it 1-1. The game would go through to the second half before another goal would be scored and it would be the Crusaders taking the 2-1 lead off of a corner kick that found feet at the back post and then found another Crusader that put the ball into the empty net. Goal number three for the Crusaders would also come off of a corner kick as this time the kicker found a player at the near post that flicked the ball into the goal to make it 3-1 as the teams entered into the second half water break. But the Blazers would come roaring back just a minute later with a goal of our own at the feet of Eli Ford. Cristian Sadelson would get the ball rolling the Blazers way when he hit Ford in the middle of the field. Ford was challenged for the ball and it was knocked forward to the last Crusader defender. Ford (4) pressed forward and won the ball, then took two uncontested touches before placing the ball just outside the goalkeeper's reach and into the corner of the goal to make it 3-2. The Crusaders would make it 4-2 late in the game with another goal after Matthew Manyak came out to secure a ball inside the penalty box and wasn't able to corral the ball, which landed at the feet of a Crusader for the easy open net goal. The Blazers would come back with a late goal of their own after Noah Ovalle would be taken down from behind inside the penalty box, prompting a penalty kick. Sadelson (8) would step forward to take the kick and blasted it into the corner to make it 4-3 with just two minutes to go in the game. match-ups against Babcock Ranch HS

With the loss, the Blazers move to 4-6-1 on the season and head into the Christmas break.. They will play their next game at Open Door Academy (7-4) on Tuesday, January 6th at 7pm.
