On Friday. December 19th, the Blazer Girls Soccer program traveled to Keswick Christian School for a game against the Crusaders as both schools head into Christmas Breaks. The game started out as a stalemate, with both teams playing great defense throughout the first half. But that would change as we hit the fifth minute of the second half as the Crusaders would unleash a blistering shot from 30 yards out that was just out of the reach of Blazer goalkeeper
Brooklyn Loftus to make it 1-0 Crusaders. Around the 20 minute mark, the Crusaders would strike again from outside of the penalty box on a ball that was launched just above the reaching Loftus to push the lead to 2 for the Crusaders. The third and final goal would come with around 10 minutes to go and it would come via the penalty kick as Loftus got tangled up with a Crusader forward and Keswick was awarded the PK. Loftus would guess correctly, but wasn't able to get her hands on the ball as it went past her and into the net. The game was a great battle back and forth between the teams, with the Blazers having a number of great opportunities, but the game ended in favor of the Crusaders 3-0.
The Blazers (6-3-1) will be back in action after the break on January 6th as they host Universal Academy (1-9) at 6:30pm.
