The Blazers Girls Basketball team travelled to Manatee County to Bradenton Christian School for a game that continues a long standing rivalry between the schools. In the MaxPreps era, the Panthers have held the lead between the two teams for the past 6 years after having won the last 11 meetings, now leading the rivalry 21-15 after holding off a late run by the Blazers 44-39 on Tuesday. The teams battled in a back and forth game with several lead changes. Going into the fourth quarter, the Panthers held a four point lead at 37-33 and the Blazers came within three at 42-39 with 9 seconds to go, but couldn't get the ball back as the Panthers beat the full court press and dropped in a last second layup to add the last two points to the score. Brenda Bresciani's fourth straight double-double with 16 points and 11 rebounds, and
Nikki Olupitan's near double-double with 10 points and 9 steals.
Grace Gallo pitched in 7 points.
