The Blazer of the Year Award recognizes a male and female, sophomore or older, who is committed to building great teams. They are encouragers and competitors. These student-athletes do not follow the crowd, they are leaders. They have the conviction to stay focused and press on, when others would simply quit or take an easy way out. In short, they are great teammates that set a Christ-like example for all to follow. They live out our core values of and represent the qualities of a true Blazer athlete.

Sage Zeltwanger is our Female Blazer of the year. She is a tough competitor but an even better teammate. She is wise beyond her years and always willing to push classmates to be the best version of themselves that they can be. Here coaches had the following to say

Coach Jordan, "She was a leader on our team in every way. She loved and cared for her teammates and pushed them to be better. It was truly a joy to coach her."

Coach K had this to say, "She has been a joy to coach for the last two years, and from the moment she joined SCS, her presence was felt in the best way. She shows wisdom beyond for years, grace and love for her teammates, even when she needs to encourage them to make better decisions. She works hard, makes all feel welcome and truly shows Christ on and off the court. I will personally miss her greatly and look forward to watching her succeed in all the Lord has planned for her."
