Blazer Girls Basketball hosted Lemon Bay High School on Tuesday evening in a very physical game. The Blazers came out to a 5-0 lead as
Brenda Bresciani would make a jumper and three free throws in the first three minutes as the Blazers would hold the Mantas scoreless during that stretch. The Mantas would come back to tie the game at 9 before the end of the first quarter, while they went on an 11-2 run covering four minutes of game time to take a 17-11 lead with 5 minutes to go in the half. But the Blazers weren't out of it and would go on their own run of six to tie the game and both teams would be unable to pull away in the second quarter as they went into half time tied at 21 each. It was the same story in the third quarter as both teams played a very physical defensive game and neither team could put the ball into the basket. At the end of the third quarter, the Mantas held a slim two point lead at 30-28. In the fourth quarter, the Blazers would be held scoreless until the 8 second mark as
Nikki Olupitan would grab a rebound and put it back up and in to drop the Mantas lead to two at 32-30 with 7.5 seconds left on the clock after a timeout was called by Coach Corwin. The Blazers were unable to get the ball back though and fell to Lemon Bay by a final score of 32-30.
