Coach Julio was born and raised in Guaynabo, Puerto Rico. Loves playing and coaching volleyball at all levels. He is a tech geek at heart. He has traveled to Europe, Asia, and South America. Bucket list includes the last 2 continents on his list, Australia and Antarctica along with Hawaii and various other locations. He is a self-taught amateur astronomer exploring the wonders that God created in the universe and has done outreach programs at TCA (The Classical Academy) and local astronomy events throughout Sarasota and Bradenton. He owns and trains beach volleyball for Sand Dollar VBC, established in 2007 here in Sarasota, FL. He is a master coach and currently coaches girls volleyball for Elite Volleyball Prep Academy, 12 Red and 12 Navy teams. He has 3 children, Max 27 (USC Alumni), Chris 24 (Attending UT in El Paso, TX), and Catalina 19 (Attending UT in Austin, TX). He is married to Brenda Krahe and has lived  in Sarasota, FL for almost 18 yrs. He is a disabled veteran of the armed forces, Desert Shield and Desert Storm. Serving from 1990-2000.
