Our next individual did not have the year he wanted to have, but it is often in those times that we learn and grow more. Injury sidelined him from one and maybe two seasons, but he was still there serving and engaging with his teammates. 

- From Coach Bru, "Travis didn't have a traditional basketball season. After a very successful football season, where he led the team in receiving yards and was second on the team in receptions, he moved immediately into basketball season. During an early season practice, he suffered a season ending ACL injury, which immediately dropped the potential ceiling of this year's basketball team. In most cases when younger athletes get injured and are sidelined for the rest of the season, it is very easy to detach and remove yourself from the group, and it can be a very lonely feeling knowing you are there, but aren't truly getting the full experience of being on the team because you can't play. Our Blazer of the Year did a tremendous job of not only staying attached to the group, but being involved in everything he possibly could be. He was encouraging, engaged, involved, present, and full of energy. I also can say with immense confidence that we would have won more than 16 games if he was healthy last season. Life is 20% what happens to you and 80% how you react. I couldn't be more proud of how our Blazer of the Year handled this difficult and emotional situation. I absolutely can't wait to see him on the football field for fall camp, and then on the basketball court whenever we get him. I think this challenging situation allowed him to see things from a different perspective, and he is going to have an outstanding remainder of his High School career being a great teammate and leader for the football and basketball programs.
