Sarasota Christian hosted Palm Grove Christian on Friday evening for boys volleyball. In the first set, the Blazers held a strong lead coming down the stretch, but couldn't hold onto the lead as the Gators closed the gap and forced the set into a back and forth game that ended with a Gator win at 32-30. Sets two and three were tight for most of the sets, but the Blazers fell apart in the middle and couldn't make the points up, losing the sets 25-19 and 25-17, and ultimately losing the match 3-0 to the Gators.
Noah Spenn (9 kills, 1 14 assists, 5 digs),
Cale Zeltwanger (9 kills, 4 assists, 9 digs), and
Travis Miller (8 kills, 11 digs) led the way for the Blazers, while
Elliott Wagler posted three blocks, and
Carson Fulcher and
Tait Zeltwanger posted 2 blocks each.
The Blazers head into the weekend with an 8-3 record and will host Bayshore Christian at home on Tuesday evening at 5pm.
