On Tuesday Night, the Blazers Boys Varsity Basketball team got their first district victory this season. The Blazers defeated the Gulf Coast HEAT 59-55 in their first district game of the year. The Blazers played well for the best crowd of the year as Jayven Szewcyzk posted a double-double with 13 points and 12 rebounds. For the second straight game, the Blazers got off to a slow start and trailed 15-9 after the first quarter. The Blazers then stepped it up and held the HEAT to 6 points while scoring 13 of their own. The next two quarters would be high scoring with a combined 37 points scored in the third quarter. SCS capitalized on poor free frow shooting by the HEAT and poured in 18 points of their own to complete the comeback in the 4th quarter. This marks the 7th win of the season for the Blazers as the young team continues to gel and improve on the floor. Freshman
Justin Brock stepped up for the Blazers going 4 for 5 from three point range. The Blazers stay at home on Friday as they take on the Eagles of Saint Stephen's Episcopal.Â
