Blazer Athletics would like to welcome Kevin Schmitt as our new Assistant Boys Basketball Coach.

Athletic Director Jacob Spenn had this to say about Kevin:

"We're excited to welcome Kevin to our boys basketball staff. His experience as both a collegiate student-athlete and high school coach has prepared him well for this opportunity. Kevin has a passion for developing young men both on and off the court, and his commitment to Christ-centered leadership makes him a tremendous fit on our staff. We're looking forward to the impact he'll have on our student-athletes and our basketball program."

Coach Kevin Schmitt is in his first season as an Assistant Coach for the Boys Varsity Basketball team at Sarasota Christian School.

Kevin graduated from Trinity Christian School in Fayetteville, North Carolina, in 2016, where he helped lead the Crusaders to a State Championship during his senior season.

He continued his basketball career at Bluefield College, earning AAC All-Academic honors twice. After graduating, Kevin returned to Trinity Christian School as both a teacher and assistant basketball coach. During his time there, he helped lead the Crusaders to the state playoffs each season, including a Sandhills Athletic Conference Championship appearance and an Elite Eight finish in the state playoffs.

Kevin is grateful for the opportunity to coach and teach in a Christ-centered community at Sarasota Christian School. His goal is to help young men grow in their faith, character, and love for the game while pointing them to Christ in all they do.

Kevin's life verses are Galatians 6:9–10 and Luke 9:23, which serve as daily reminders to faithfully serve others, persevere in doing good, and wholeheartedly follow Christ.
