The Blazers used a smothering full court defense to slow down the TCA Patriots and take home the Sunshine State Athletic Conference 1A Championship. The Blazers trailed by one, 17-18 at half and had struggled to find any rhythm. Randall Collins kept the Blazers in the game scoring 6 points but dominating the boards and every loose ball. The second half saw more of the same from Collins as he provided a defensive spark that spread. The Blazers full court pressure was too much for the Patriots as the Blazers generated turnovers that lead to quick baskets. Senior, Jayven Szewczyk, took over down the stretch. Jayven lead all scorers with 21. 19 of those came in the second half and 13 came in the fourth quarter. Collins finished with 11 and Ben Milliken had 10.

The Blazers have now won three in a row and are over 500 with a 10-9 record. The Blazers will turn right around and host TCA again on Tuesday night at 7. The Blazers are in the hunt for a home game in the district tournament with several big games down the stretch.
