The Blazers closed out the regular season in front of a capacity crowd Friday with a thrilling victory over the visiting Thunder from ODA by a score of 56-54. The Blazers lost at ODA earlier in the season but earned the victory with a great performance by
Ben Milliken. Milliken ended the night with 23 points and 12 rebounds. The Blazers trailed early but used a strong defensive performance in the 2nd quarter to take a 2 point lead at half. They extended the lead to 3 after three quarters. The lead was 6 with 2 minutes to play but the Thunder made made a big push at the end. The home crowd was certainly a factor down the stretch as the Thunder missed two late free throws and the Blazers sealed the game with rebounding and solid free throw shooting.
Josh Frazzini had 14 and
Matthias Hulka had 12.
Randall Collins and
Carson Spenn battled all night against the strong post presence of ODA.
The Blazers finished the regular season with a record of 16-8. They will enter the FHSAA district tournament as the #1 seed and will host games on Thursday and Friday at SCS. The Thursday night game will be against the winner of TCA and St. Stephen's. The Blazers defeated both of these teams earlier in the season.
