The Blazers took a trip to Bradenton Christian on Tuesday for a rivalry game against the Panthers. Bradenton Christian has controlled the rivalry 12-26, having won the last 12 match-ups between the schools. The Blazers came out ready to play and never stopped the entire game. The Panthers controlled much of the opening five minutes, coming out hot to a 10-3 lead, before the Blazers clawed their way back to a 14-11 deficit going into the second quarter and to an eventual lead of 26-20 at the half. The lead change came after
Travis Miller won the race to a loose ball and tipped the ball to
Justin Brock who found a waiting
Drew Sirianni in the corner to bring it to 1 at 17-16. Brock would then take an offensive rebound and make a jumper from just inside the free throw line for the last lead change of the night. The Blazers would lead the rest of the half as they'd finish it at 26-20 and push the lead to 11 early in the third before the Panthers pulled back to within one at 36-35. The teams would exchange baskets back and forth before ending the quarter at 44-42 in favor of the Blazers. Bradenton Christian would come out and make the first basket of the fourth quarter to tie the game, but the Blazers led the rest of the way as
Ben Milliken hit back-to-back threes and Sirianni would toss in a layup to make it an 8-point lead. The Blazers finished the game with a ten-point lead at 68-58, pushing them to 4-1 on the year.
Justin Brock (13 points and 11 assists) and
Noah Spenn (12 points and 11 rebounds) both came away with their first double-double of the season. This was a team effort all the way down to the end with 4 players in double figures for the game and great minutes form players off the bench.
