Coach Kevin Bruinsma has been named the Class 1A District 16 Coach of the Year by the Florida Athletic Coaches Association. During the 2025-26 season, the Blazers posted an 18 win season, winning their district championship for the first time under Coach Bruinsma, and continuing on to win an FHSAA Regionals opening round match-up before ending their year in the Regional Semi-final. Bruinsma notched his 100th win with the Blazers this year, while leading the Blazers to victories over Class 4A schools Bayshore High and Desoto County High, and 6A Lakewood Ranch High, while also sweeping the regular season series' against Out-of-Door Academy and Bradenton Christian for the first time in over ten years. This is Bruinsma's fifth FACA District 16 Coach of the Year award in his seven years at Sarasota Christian.
