The Blazer Baseball team took on the Lakeside Christian Lions on Thursday, March 9 and defeated them by mercy rule in six innings. The Blazers came out with a pair of runs in the first inning and added another pair in the third inning to lead 4-0 early. The Lions would bounce back in the fourth and fifth innings to keep the game close, but
Randall Collins hit a two run home run over the left field fence in the bottom half of the fifth inning to give the Blazers some late game momentum. The team used that momentum to drive in six more runs over the next two innings to win by a final score of 13-3.
Justin Brock (3-0) gave the team five good innings on the mound before handing the ball over to
Evan Poznanski (1 save) to close out the game.
Randall Collins and Colin Lawson each had a pair of hits and drove in 3 runs each on the night. The Blazers stole 13 bases during the game, making use of 11 walks and 1 hit by pitch.
The Blazers will come off of spring break with a 4-3 record and will play at Bayshore High on Tuesday night.
