Blazer Baseball's 25-26 season has ended with a record of 12-11.
The Blazers had several players over .300 this year as the Blazers swung the bat well. Junior
Evan Poznanski led the way with a .393 batting average, knocking three balls out of the ball park and finding himself in scoring position nine other times after extra base hits. Poznanski drove in 29 RBI's.
Collin Lawson also came in strong for his senior season, batting .344, raising his average from .167 a year ago, with a home run and seven extra base hits, while driving in seventeen runs.
Hayden Rogers saw success during his junior year, batting .341 for the season and scoring 13 runs. Seniors
Justin Brock (.333 AVG, 9 XBH, 20 R) and
Rowan Baum (.309 AVG, 21 R) both had strong seasons at the plate. Freshman newcomers Bronson and
Preston Hoke showed great promise at the plate in limited at bats, with Bronson hitting .400 with two singles on five at bats and scoring a run, and Preston hitting .333 with three singles in nine chances, with two RBI's.
On the mound, there were great ups and downs during the season. To start the year, Baum (2IP, 3K, 1H) and
James White (3IP, 5K, 0H) combined for a one hitter. In game two,
Bronson Hoke came into his first high school game in relief in the third inning and struck out thirteen batters in five innings, with nine straight strikeouts to start his high school career. Game three saw a Blazers pitching trio of Lawson (12K), Evan (3K), and James (2K), strikeout a total of 17 batters in a losing effort after going to extra innings. Mid way into March, Lawson would come through with his second gem of the season, pitching a no-hitter against Ruskin Christian, going five innings and striking out 11 batters. Later that week,
Justin Brock went the complete game against Imagine School at North Port, striking out 10 in a 2-1 victory over the Sharks. In likely the best game of the year for the Blazers,
Collin Lawson had his third great start on the mound, striking out 9 in a 3-2 losing effort to Out-of-Door Academy as he'd give up just four hits and walk three.
Rowan Baum would pitch two complete game shutouts, giving up just three hits in both games. In total, Baum led the way on the mound with 4 wins, striking out 40 batters. Lawson would get two wins and strike out 43 batters, while Brock earned two victories and struck out 25.
Bronson Hoke struck out 31 batters on the season.
