On a cold Tuesday night, the Blazers were able to get hot at the plate. They scored 11 runs to defeat the Bayshore High Bruins. The Bruins came into the game with a 4-3 record with many wins over good opponents. The Blazers saw this game as a way to bounce back from a loss on Saturday to Silo. The Blazers started the game with Freshman Justin Brock on the mound. He would throw 4 and 1/3 innings giving up 2 earned runs. Colin Lawson came on in relief and closed out the game. Colin threw 2 and 2/3 innings and 1 earned run. On the offensive side, Junior Alex Hefti went 2-5 and led the team with 3 RBIs on the night. In the fourth inning, the offense drove away from the Bruins offense putting up 8 runs in the top half of the inning. The win propels the Blazers to 5-3 on the season, and they look to go 2-0 on the week against Booker High on Thursday at 7:00.
