The Lady Blazers trailed most of the game in their season home opener against the Panthers from Foundation Christian. The Panthers jumped out to 1-0 lead after the first and would add three more in the top of the third. Some aggressive base running by Selah Spenn made it 4-1 after three innings. Spenn would go 3 for 3 on the day with 2 RBI's. She would score 3 runs, including the go ahead run in the bottom of the 6th. Ashton Klinger went 3 for 4 with a double and 2 RBI's. Devoni McLaughlin and Alice Nouri recorded RBI's for the Blazers as well.

Ashton Klinger pitched 5 solid innings for the Blazers before Devoni McLaughlin closed out the last two innings and earned the victory. In total the Lady Blazers had 14 hits as they drove in 6 runs on the night. 2 crossed in the 5th to cut lead to 1 but FCA picked up a run in the top of the 6th before the Blazers scored 3 in the bottom of the 6th with the defense closing it out in the 7th. The Blazers will travel to All Saints on Tuesday, February 27 as they look for 2 in a row.
