On Tuesday, March 5th, the Lady Blazers softball team played host to the Mustangs from Family Christian Academy. The Mustangs started fast, bringing in 11 runs before the Lady Blazers had a chance to score themselves, but the Lady Blazers hit the ball well as they came roaring back in the bottom half of the inning with 9 of their own and didn't stop scoring, taking the lead in the bottom of the third and completing the mercy rule victory in 4 innings with a score of 35-15.
Devoni McLaughlin took the mound in the 1st inning and took the win with 6 strikeouts, while giving up just 6 runs. At the plate,
Ella Aylsworth was perfect at the plate, going 4/4 with a walk, scoring all 4 times, 6 stolen bases and 6 runs batted in.

Reese Scholl, also had strong games at the plate, combining for 6 hits, scoring 7 runs, 9 stolen bases and bringing in 12 runs. Along with Aylsworth,
Sierra Godwin and
Alice Nouri were also both perfect at the plate, Godwin 1/1 with 4 walks, stealing 6 bases, and scoring five runs, and Nouri 1/1 with 3 walks, stealing 5 bases, and scoring 4 runs. In total, the Lady Blazers had 18 hits, 44 stolen bases, and 35 RBI's across the four inning game.
The Lady Blazers have risen to 2-2 on the season, 1-0 in district play, and will look to continue their hot hitting against the Saint Stephen's Episcopal Falcons on Thursday, March 7th, at 4pm. The game is taking place on the SSES campus at 315 41st St W, Bradenton, FL 34209.
