Sarasota Christian hosted Sarasota Military Academy on Friday last week in a game that had to go to extra innings to be decided. The Eagles came out to an early 2-0 lead before the Blazers tied it up at 2. Both teams would come through with three scoreless innings to send the game into extra innings where the Eagles put up four runs in the top of the eighth to take the win. The Blazers two runs came in on a wild pitch and an error by the defense as they were unable to capitalize with runners in scoring position against the Eagles, getting just two hits in the game.
Collin Lawson went 6 innings on the mound for the Blazers, giving up two runs, 1 earned, walking one and striking out a dozen batters as the Blazers have now had back to back games where a pitcher has struck out a dozen or more batters.
Evan Poznanski gets the loss for the game as he went a clean 7th inning, but couldn't find the outs in the 8th inning, giving up four unearned runs.
The Blazers will bounce back on Tuesday night as they face Admiral Farragut at home at 7pm.
