Softball With A Dominant Win Over Sharks

The Lady Blazers played very well against Imagine School North Port, scoring 21 runs and only allowing 2 runs.

The Blazers got started from the first pitch as the Blazers put up five runs in the first inning. Giada Down got things rolling with a double before Selah Spenn swapped spaces with her with a double of her own, earning RBI number one of the day. After stealing third, Spenn would be driven in on an RBI single by Kinsley Grieser. Bralyn Yoder would continue the hit parade with an infield single and Dakota Guerrero followed up with an RBI single to make it 3-0 Blazers. After Yoder and Guerrero stole a pair of bases to move to second and third, Nora Blasewitz drove a 2 RBI single to right field, giving the Blazers a 5-0 lead. The Sharks would gain two runs in the bottom of the first and the Blazers got one in the bottom, setting up the third inning with the Blazers winning 6-2. Guerrero would lead off the top of the third inning with an infield single, bringing up Orchid Moli-Pouesi. Orchid would blast a hard hit through the hole at short and third, driving in Guerrero. Blasewitz would get her second RBI hit on an infield single that scored Moli-Pouesi, making the score 8-2 Blazers. Reagan Volkert would get in on the RBI hit parade with an infield single up the middle, scoring Blasewitz. After Brooklyn Loftus singled to put runners at first and third, Volkert would score on a passed ball. Giada Down would single as well to put runners at first and third. Spenn would then unload with a triple to left, scoring both Loftus and Down, pushing the lead to 10, and Grieser followed up with an RBI double to right field. Yoder singled to score Grieser, making the score 14-2. Guerrero would come up for the second time and double to center, sending Yoder to third and bringing up Moli-Pouesi for the second time. Yoder would score on a wild pitch and Guerrero would score on a Moli-Pouesi ground out. But the inning wasn't done yet as the Blazers would bat around the order twice in the inning. Blasewitz would score on a passed ball and Down would walk, setting up Spenn with runners on first and third. Spenn singled on a line drive to right field, scoring both Volkert and Down to make the score 19-2. Grieser would be hit by a pitch and Yoder singled, bringing up Guerrero for her third at bat of the inning. Guerrero would come through with a 2 RBI double, scoring Spenn and Grieser, to push the lead to 19, where the inning ended at. With a lead of 21-2, the Blazers defense held strong with a 1-2-3 inning in the bottom of the third to complete the three inning mercy rule victory.

Selah Spenn and Dakota Guerrero both led the way going 4-4 on the day, with Spenn bringing in 6 RBI's and Guerrero bringing in 3 RBI's. Bralyn Yoder went 3-4 in the game, driving in one run and scoring two. Every starter for the Blazers had a hit in the game and scored a run. The Blazers were also quick on the base paths, swiping 12 stolen bases. 

Brooklyn Loftus earned the win on the mound, pitching 2 complete innings. Kinsley Grieser pitched the final inning. Both pitchers combined had 6 strikeouts, Loftus with 5 and Grieser with 1. The Blazers will face Cambridge Christian on Tuesday at 3:45pm.
