In the SSAA 3A championship the Lady Blazers came back from a 5 run deficit. The Blazer bats came alive with a total of 12 runs on 16 hits.
Brooklyn Loftus and
Selah Spenn both had 3 hits, Loftus with an Inside the park homerun and 4 RBIs.
Dakota Guerrero,
Giada Down,
Bralyn Yoder, and
Reagan Volkert all had 2 hits a piece. Loftus pitched the complete game for the Blazers, striking out 5 Oasis hitters.
The Blazers gave up 5 in the top of the 1st, but had the bats going in the bottom of the first as they picked up 6 themselves. Oasis again jumped out to a lead with 4 in the top of the 2nd to put the score at 9-6 Oasis, but that would be the last time they would score. The Blazer defense made some incredible plays in the field, while Loftus settled in and started striking out batters.
Reagan Volkert had multiple catches in center field including a diving catch for the second straight game.
Kinsley Grieser continued to shine at shortstop where she threw out multiple batters. The Blazers made some great defensive stops to end innings with multiple Oasis runners in scoring position.
Trailing 8-9 in the bottom of the 4th
Brooklyn Loftus drove a ball through the gap in right center that ended up being a inside the park home run bringing in Guerrero as well to take the 10-9 lead. In the bottom the 5th,
Selah Spenn doubled off the top of the wall in left field to drive in 2 more and put the Blazers up to stay. Loftus was in control in the last two innings keeping Oasis out of scoring position for the victory.
The Lady Blazers play Tuesday night against Family Christian at home at Fruitville park at 4pm.
